Learn Techniques To Control Stress and Anxiety

Counseling/Psychotherapy for stress, anxiety, and nervousness can help you feel more relaxed and comfortable in your everyday life.

Counseling can Help you:

You can learn techniques and coping strategies to manage stress and anxiety when it occurs. These include:

  • breathing exercises
  • relaxation training
  • stopping negative thoughts
  • meditation
  • and assertiveness training

We can talk through situations that have made you anxious to help you see and create options which you could not see before.  I can also teaching you ways to comfort yourself when you first begin to experience stress, nervousness, or anxiety.

Identifying the Symptoms of Stress and Anxiety

You can identify your symptoms of stress and anxiety by checking the following symptoms:
______I feel keyed up and tense. My mind is racing.
______I can’t stop thinking about______________.
______I believe my pulse rate is faster than normal and that my blood pressure is up.
______I notice there is tightness in my chest or shoulders.
______Something seems incredibly important right now and I am thinking about it nonstop.
______I am worrying and I feel like something bad is about to happen.
______I have a “nervous stomach” and I might be blushing or sweating.
______I am worrying about meeting a new person or going to a social event.

These are some of the symptoms/issues that we would work on together in counseling.
