What is your approach to counseling and psychotherapy?
I have been trained in a number of theoretical approaches. My approach is humanistic and interpersonal. I am always aware as a therapist of object-relations theory and it’s importance in the work I do. Sometimes a client wants behavioral work only and I can usually accommodate a request for advice and recommendations for specific behavioral change.

For couples therapy I use the Gottman and Emotionally Focused Therapy methods.
For group psychotherapy, my approach is Yalom-style Interpersonal group. Dr. Irvin Yalom is my group consultant.
For parent/child consultation: I use a systems and positive change approach and teach parenting skills when needed.
